Nicely written. I feel much the same way. Crazy how much of this game is all mental. Developing tricks for your mind to keep you from doing the wrong thing at the wrong time! Thanks so much for writing it up.

Great written, I agree with all of your points. One rule, that I implemented for me, was to journal on every bigger decision I make. Regarding stocks, the process is: I came across a new idea, I put it in my journal, run my initial "kill idea checklist" if it is still interesting, and I eventually come to the conclusion to buy it. I write a journal entry, laying out the thesis. I do the same, when I want to sell, and also revisit my initial thesis while holding.

I completely agree. I have a whole post on journaling. A kill idea checklist or negative qualifiers is a good way to keep yourself out of trouble. Part of my journaling is a kill/quit statement or at least a revisit statement. Something like "If the company doesn't do X by Y, then I take a hard look again."
