I am going to go over some quick stats for 2024 and take a look forward for 2025. I will do a separate post for my portfolio and it’s performance so be on the lookout for that.

Subscriber Count
I started the year with 380 subscribers. At the time of writing this I have 1,337 subscribers. I had a loose goal to hit 1,000 subscribers by the end of 2024. I feel truly blessed that so many follow my work.
I did a special post when I hit 1,000 subscribers. I asked the readers to pick a charity to donate $1,000 to.
2025 Look Ahead
More of the same. I want to continue to post weekly. I was almost perfect on putting out posts each Tuesday this year. At this point, I have no intention of making this a paid newsletter. I may put in an option to leave a tip or something at some point. I feel that writing helps me process some of my internal dialogue around investing and other parts of my life.
2025 goals for Petty Cash
The readers will not see this, but I have a goal to write at least 30 mins each work day. I did this for 190 of about 200 days this year.
My only quantitative goal is to post have a post each Tuesday morning in 2025. This does not include the quick updates that I post on companies that I own or follow.
I have a goal to “get better” at writing. I don’t have a quantitative way to measure this, but I do have a feedback loop that I make sure I follow. So for this one, I will just have to trust the process.
I appreciate everyone that sets out goals to grow their audience each year, but I am happy to just keep the consistency up. I know I will improve over time and that’s enough. For me the risk of fizzling out is too large. I would rather keep doing the same over setting some audacious goals that I likely don’t hit.
